Pakistan, Iran Discuss Ceasefire, Continued Dialogue with US
According to statements, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke by phone with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, with both sides reviewing recent regional developments, the ceasefire situation, and diplomatic initiatives being advanced by Islamabad in relation to US-Iran interactions.
As stated by reports, Araghchi also conducted separate calls with Dar and Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, where conversations centered on developments in the region and matters linked to the ceasefire. No further specifics regarding these discussions were disclosed.
During the exchange, Dar highlighted the necessity of keeping channels of communication open, stressing the value of “sustained dialogue and engagement” with the US to resolve pending issues and promote stability across the region as soon as possible, according to statements.
In response, Araghchi acknowledged Pakistan’s ongoing efforts, noting its constructive and consistent role in facilitating dialogue, the statement added.
