Geely Begins Global Rollout of D-Segment Hybrid SUV Monjaro EM-i in Egypt

CAIRO, Egypt, Aug. 30, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Geely launched the Monjaro EM-i in Egypt, beginning the global rollout of its first D-segment hybrid SUV. The new model combines comfort, efficiency, and confident handling and is designed to meet the needs of customers across diverse markets, while setting a new benchmark for quality and driving dynamics in the hybrid D-SUV segment.

With the help of the GEA Evo global intelligent new-energy flagship architecture, the Monjaro EM-i can support flexible space development, multiple energy systems, and comprehensive vehicle safety, the architecture brings together five core strengths: performance, driving dynamics, safety, comfort, and intelligent technology.

All-Round Performance: Efficient Hybrid Power and Confident Control

The EM-i Super Hybrid system combines electric drive with a highly efficient 1.5TD dedicated hybrid engine, balancing responsive performance with fuel efficiency. The Ultra AWD accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.83 seconds, providing power on demand for highway merging, overtaking, and driving under heavier loads.

For the front-wheel-drive Pro and Max, fuel consumption with the battery at a low state of charge is as low as 5.4 L/100 km, helping drivers manage fuel costs when access to charging is limited.

The Continuous Damping Control (CCD) Suspension System adjusts damping in milliseconds, helping soften the impact of speed bumps and rough or damaged roads. When grip changes on wet, uneven, or loose surfaces, the e-AWD Intelligent Electric AWD System responds quickly to support stable and predictable handling.

From Body to Battery: Comprehensive Safety for Every Journey

A robust core body structure made entirely from high-strength steel and six standard airbags provide a strong foundation for occupant protection. Through the central display, the 540-degree panoramic view with transparent chassis visualization gives drivers a clearer view of tight parking spaces, curbs, and hidden obstacles.

The Monjaro EM-i achieves a 100–0 km/h braking distance of 33 meters and a moose test speed of 79 km/h, demonstrating stable control during emergency braking and sudden maneuvers.

Comfort by Design: Generous Space and Intuitive In-Cabin Technology

Measuring 4.8 meters in length and featuring a 2,845 mm wheelbase, the Monjaro EM-i provides generous passenger space. Its 11-layer composite Marshmallow SPA seats offer lasting support and help reduce fatigue over long distances.

Inside, the cabin feels refined, with key information clearly presented, common functions easy to access, and balanced sound throughout. A symmetrical layout, ambient lighting, carefully crafted details, the Flyme Auto In-Vehicle Infotainment System, and the Flyme Sound Audio System bring this experience together.

The Monjaro EM-i is offered in three versions: the front-wheel-drive Pro and Max, and the all-wheel-drive Ultra. Following Egypt, the model is set to launch in the UAE, Mexico, and Kazakhstan before expanding into European markets, giving customers more choice in efficient and high-quality mobility.
